March Inn

Why"March Inn?" March Inn was the name of that magic place where I spent my summers growing up. I have alluded to this place before, and I probably will again. March Inn is no longer standing. The waters of Katrina rendered it unlivable so my children will never know that "March Inn." That makes me sad. In fact it brings me to tears whenever I think about it. I want my children to have their own "March Inn," and I want to capture our lives as they are growing and changing. I invite you to "march inn" to our lives. My hope is that you will catch glimpses of the real world. You will see our creations. You will see our chaos. You will see our affection. You will also see our frustrations, fears, and disappointments. Enjoy your march!

Snaggle Tooth

When I came in from running this morning I found everyone in the laundry room and Mary Frances had a smile on her face that was a mile wide. Why the smile? Her loose tooth was hanging by a thread. What you say ~ a loose tooth, she's not old enough to lose a tooth, how old are you when you first loose a tooth anyway! Me too so let me me back track to our time in Mobile... Last Saturday after enjoying a delightful pancake breakfast with friends, Mary Frances came to me and said her tooth hurt. I could look at it and tell something was different so I reached up to touch it. Well imagine my surprise when I realized that it was loose, and I don't mean just a little loose. It was so loose I thought it could easily come out that day! For some reason, these has been a more momentous milestone than I would have thought. C'mon you say, it's just a tooth...I know, I know! Fast forward to breakfast today... First off, I e-mailed her teacher to one let her know that she was going home with a friend, two that her dress was on backwards {it took a lot for this control freak to let that go} and she might decide she wanted to change it, and three her tooth was hanging by a thread and I hoped it wouldn't be a distraction.

Her sweet teacher e-mailed back to say Mary Frances had asked her to pull the tooth, but the teacher wanted to make sure it was okay with us. Of course it was okay ~ I figured Mary Frances would like loosing it in front of her friends and it would make her feel special. That it did!

Betsy and the boys are already with me at the lake for the weekend so Frank got to do the honors! What do you think? I think she is excited ~ I look forward to giving her a hug tomorrow and hearing what the tooth fairy left under her pillow!
