March Inn

Why"March Inn?" March Inn was the name of that magic place where I spent my summers growing up. I have alluded to this place before, and I probably will again. March Inn is no longer standing. The waters of Katrina rendered it unlivable so my children will never know that "March Inn." That makes me sad. In fact it brings me to tears whenever I think about it. I want my children to have their own "March Inn," and I want to capture our lives as they are growing and changing. I invite you to "march inn" to our lives. My hope is that you will catch glimpses of the real world. You will see our creations. You will see our chaos. You will see our affection. You will also see our frustrations, fears, and disappointments. Enjoy your march!

Dream Big

Do you know Roger Day? If you don't you should check him out. Roger Day is a musician who writes children's music with hilarious titles like, Mosquito Burrito, It's a No No to Kiss a Rhino, and Roly Poly. I first saw him perform pre-children at the school where I worked as a speech-language pathologist. He was engaging and the students loved him. Fast forward several years and I happened upon his Ready to Fly album at the library prior to hearing him live for summer reading finale. Mary Frances enjoyed his catchy rhythm so we asked for one of his cds for Christmas. {I'm always looking for things we enjoy but don't take up much space in our house.} We own Dream Big! Since that time we have had the privilege of hearing him in concert at our local library during summer reading ba couple of times. My children love him! In fact, the first time we heard him Stephen was just over one and headed to the front row.

Today, it was not much different except for the child. Walker was thoroughly entertained... I have no pictures to show the fun that was had by all. I fully intended to take the camera, but after buckling four children into the car I simply forgot. {You didn't miss anything ~ Mary Frances had a friend.}

In other news, we had a small dinner party this evening to celebrate Pops' birthday ~ another first without Tootsie. It was the six of us plus two couples who Norval and Steve enjoyed spending time with. Frank and I decided that it is the six of us often so we would invite some friends to add to the mix.

I've finished one of Stephen's smocked shirts. I love it though I don't love the way it fits. Fortunately, I tried it on him before creating the buttonholes because I've got to rework the neck ~ added to my "to do" list.

We've got flowers ~ zinnias, daisies, blue hydrangea, gardenia, and Queen Ann's lace...

Hopefully I'll be back soon to give a full update on summer...

I'll leave you with this as a reminder of why I don't get here as often as I would like and why you don't get all the ends and outs of our days.
