My pictures come from Saturday at the ballpark.
Fear the 'stache ~
A few games back the Rockies {that's Mary Frances' softball team} were on a losing streak, and my silly husband gave all of the girls moustaches created with eye black. One of the other coaches credited those moustaches with a change in their performance and told Frank to make sure he had the eye black for the next game. On Saturday all of the little brothers had honorary moustaches. Hey whatever works! They keep winning!
Winning certainly isn't everything, but it sure has helped make a fun first softball season.

And onto other things...Frank boarded a plane this morning for a couple of days in Baltimore. The children and I went to church, and I thought I would try to snap so photos when we got home since the shots I took at Easter were so dismal.
Okay, the pictures aren't much better. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get one of everyone! There's always next week ~ we'll try again and have everyone in lace.
But I do have a question - who do you think this precious little one looks like?
And now back to softball...After lunch and naps for my babies we returned to the ballpark for a hot afternoon.
Go Rockies! The girls played in their first tournament game. They won. That means we play again Wednesday night. Softball has been a really good experience for us - that doesn't mean it has been completely easy on any of us, but as I look back over the season I get a little teary eyed, and it isn't just because of Mary Frances. Stephen and Walker and even Betsy {at times} have really enjoyed their time at the ballpark. That's a good thing because I think this is just the beginning!
But this is about the Rockies and our child on the team. It has been so fun to watch the girls become a team and friends. They cheer for each other as they walk up to bat, and they encourage each other after a not so great play. They seem to enjoy each others company on and off of the field. While the team pulls from all four of our elementary school there are a lot of Crestline girls on the team {how can there not be since it is the largest of the four schools.} It is fun for Mary Frances to see the third graders in the halls or walking to and from school. If you remember, it is always cool for someone older to know who you are and even cooler to admit it. Mary Frances is definitely our child who can most benefit from that boost of self-confidence. It will be fun for these girls to all overlap at the Junior High School in a few years.
I'm off to clean the kitchen and fold some laundry - you know that is my full-time job don't you?
Beautiful pictures of Betsy...she looks like you!!! Without a doubt...just darker hair.
