March Inn

Why"March Inn?" March Inn was the name of that magic place where I spent my summers growing up. I have alluded to this place before, and I probably will again. March Inn is no longer standing. The waters of Katrina rendered it unlivable so my children will never know that "March Inn." That makes me sad. In fact it brings me to tears whenever I think about it. I want my children to have their own "March Inn," and I want to capture our lives as they are growing and changing. I invite you to "march inn" to our lives. My hope is that you will catch glimpses of the real world. You will see our creations. You will see our chaos. You will see our affection. You will also see our frustrations, fears, and disappointments. Enjoy your march!

It Is Your Special Day

Sweet Stephen, you are correct.  It is your special day, and I hope it is as special to you as you are to each of us and all of those you meet.  You are a blessing to us, and we are so thankful that you joined our family five years ago.
Five years!  Five years ago just before you were born, I remember Dr. Brown saying something simple and profound about the importance of having siblings.  Five years later I can't remember her exact words, but even then I agreed then.  However five years ago I didn't know how true her words were.
You have always been in a special place in our family.  You get to be the little brother to Mary Frances and the big brother to Walker and Betsy.  I'll never forget Mrs. Kay teaching you that.
And what a brother you are!

And what a son you are!  Your daddy and I are so proud of you and we love you so much.

Here is your birthday video!  Happy Birthday!
